Abstract entitled "Assessment of "Element of sustainable city for urban environmental management of Kathmandu Valley"

Urbanization is the process of population growth residing in urban areas. In context of Nepal, Kathmandu Valley is the largest urban center of the country with 1.7 million populations with decadal population growth rate of 60.93%. This research was conducted to identify the driving factors of urbanization, describe the consequences on environmental components and assess the element of sustainable cities to manage the urban environmental issues of Kathmandu Valley. For the study, both qualitative as well quantitative data were collected via literature reviews, questionnaire survey, key informant interviews and site visit. Questionnaire survey was conducted among 183 respondents inside the valley and 52 from outside the Valley. Based on survey, 86% of people stated the centralized infrastructure services i.e. presence of education institutions, equipped hospitals and industrial activities being the major driving factors of inflow towards valley. Appeal for Fund support to improve status of education and health

Improvement in education quality through hiring of local teacher Himalchuli Primary School is located at Gaganpani Paire-7, Dhading district with 50+ students. Majority of the student belongs to the economically deprived Tamang and Chepang community. Community people don’t have much time to properly guide their children as they spent their most of the time in labor activities. School also comprises of the single orphan or double orphan as well as separated children as their students. Few families take their child to the school with the belief of getting rid of their child and time for labor activities rather than educating their children.   Problem Analysis Children come to school with empty stomach without any food for lunch as well. To stay in class from 10am-3 pm without food, their health as well as psychological condition is getting worse each passing day. As they couldn’t concentrate on study with hungry stomach, they used to bunk from school deteriorating the q
